For The Nineties, Karen Kilimnik revisits her iconic installation Fountain of Youth (cleanliness is next to godliness), transforming the stand into a verdant site, where visitors can enter as a momentary respite from the surrounding energetic atmosphere. Boxwood hedges define the space, delineating a path while also drawing the viewer’s gaze between the hedges to create viewfinders for drawings and paintings, hung on the walls of the stand’s perimeter. Within the greenery is a working fountain with scattered toiletries in ornate bottles, the likes of Penhaligon’s and Bulgari.
