Mike Nelson is best known for his labyrinthine architectural installations that unfold as narrative structures, where the viewer moves through rooms like a reader turns pages in a novel. For Tramway, Nelson presents a recent work, Eighty Circles through Canada (the last possessions of an Orcadian mountain man). Inspired by his friendship and collaboration with the artist and mountaineer Erlend Williamson, and the work of anthropologist Dr. Wilson Duff, the piece explores landscape and the artistic traditions inherent within it.
