Tala Madani | Online Artist Talk

Iranian American artist Tala Madani makes paintings and animations that use humorous, fantastical imagery and a rich painterly expressionism to critique notions of representation, gender, authority, and identity. In this online talk, Madani discusses her creative practice and her recent series Shit Moms with Jessica Cerasi, Assistant Curator, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. This conversation serves as the 2020 iteration of the Middle Eastern Circle Presents annual program series.

This free program will be livestreamed on the Guggenheim’s website and their YouTube channel. RSVP to receive a reminder for this program before it goes live.

To accompany the talk, a selection of Madani’s animations is available for viewing from beginning December 16, 7 pm, through December 20, 7 pm. The video will be accessible on the Guggenheim’s website.

This program is made possible with support from the Middle Eastern Circle at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
